Building an enabling economic environment for investment and business activities is one of our key focus areas. The comprehensive growth of Abu Dhabi's economy necessitates instilling consumer confidence. 

At ADDED, we constantly work to ensure that economic establishments follow the laws and legislations regulating Abu Dhabi’s business sector while conducting any business activity. This helps provide a safe and encouraging economic environment for consumers and merchants of these establishments.

Addressing consumer complaints, educating consumers and investors, raising consumers’ awareness about their rights and duties (as per Federal Law No. (15) of 2020), are few of the integral functions of the Consumer Protection Section of the Commercial Protection Department at ADDED.


How can we help?

The Consumer Protection Department helps protect and empower consumer rights through a twofold, interactive process: 

  • Receiving complaints from consumers and dealers regarding any untoward practices by commercial establishments that are licensed by ADDED. 
  • Providing information about other services that support the interests of consumers, preserving their rights and helping raise awareness in matters of consumer protection.
